Video Transcript:
Magtech is an ammo company based out of Brazil and has been around for over 80 years. Their parent company, CBC, is the largest provider of military ammunition in Latin America. They also own the popular European ammo company S&B. Magtech is not quite as popular here in the US, but in other parts of the world they have a strong reputation for making quality reliable ammo for a number of different shooting applications.
The Magtech we tested for this video is their 180 grain 40 Smith & Wesson load. It features a reloadable brass case with a noncorrosive primer. The bullet is a traditional lead core, copper full metal jacket. And like most 40 Smith & Wesson bullets, it has a flat tip.
We ran a couple of boxes of this ammo through six different pistols to see how it would perform. Reliability was no problem at all. We didn't experience any feeding malfunctions or ignition failures.
Recoil was just slightly softer than some of the other 40 caliber target loads that we've tried. If you're shooting a compact handgun or otherwise have any issues with being recoil shy, you might want to try this load to see if it helps. We used a Beretta 96 to test accuracy from a benchrest at about 15 yards. Our 10-shot group demonstrated excellent consistency with all the rounds impacting about an inch or two above the point of aim.
It's easy to overlook Magtech with so many other more common brands out there. But in my experience, it's always been dependable ammo in any pistol caliber. I wouldn't hesitate to use this 40 caliber load for any range application.

- Great Ammo for the price Review by Adam

Bought a case of 1000 for my SIG P229 a couple years back and I've burned through a little more than half of it plinking at the range at this point. No real issues to speak of, and the ones that did occur I'm sure were due to a dirty firearm rather than the ammo itself. Would buy again. I shot 500 rounds at the range without any problem on my PX4 storm. This brand feeds great, fires clean, and cheaper than other big name brands. Lucky Gunner had fast delivery with good packaging out to CA. . (Posted on 10/11/11)Performance Value Quality - Great buy thanks Review by jonathan

I bought two cases of this ammo (2,000 rounds) and I've gone through 600 so far without a single problem. Feeds great, fires every time, and much cleaner than comparable ammo like Remington. I did a side-by-side test of this ammo, Remington, S&B, Winchester, and Fiocchi, and the Magtech was the best performer. The price here at LuckyGunner is also incredibly lower than anywhere else. I'm impressed with this bullet in my Glock 27; this is realiable ammo in any situation, at the range or not. Although I have a bit to go of the thousand rounds, no misfires, issues, or faults thus far. An exellent range round! If any changes or surprises occur, I will return to report it here. No issues, good solid ammo to work with at the range... (Posted on 1/25/11)Performance Value Quality - Cant ask for more Review by HK Guy

This is great bulk ammo, as accurate as the shooter is. I've got almost 500 rounds through a P-30 with ZERO FTE / FTF. It is a little dirty but not excessively so. The price more than makes up for a bit more cleaning. Lucky Gunners service was great. The product arrived 3 days after the order was placed. Will definately purchase this product again. Great Price, Quick Ship, Excellent Range ammo (Posted on 12/8/10)Quality Performance Value - very good Review by Dhjunkie

Very good ammo for the price, Shoots straight. only complaint is that it is very dirty firing ammunition in the 40s&w. After firing150 rounds my gun looked as if I had fired 600 rounds of what I normally shoot. Now my buddy bought the mag-tec 9mm and it was way cleaner. The 1000 .40 ammunition was fine. I purchased this on the price and contact from a previous order for 1000 rounds of .380 . Unfortunately the .380 ammo showed up as only 100 shipped, with 1000 billed. Poor eyesight in shipping. A phone call set it all right with promised rounds to be out before the deadline of a class starting. Remaining 900 rounds showed up a day later than promised. Had to locate some .380 asap to cover the day without ammo. Two mistakes in one order did not give me the seller confidence I would have preferred. All the ammo functioned perfectly. Both myself and daughter did four days of training with no ammo malfunctions. Delivery follow up and shipping inability to fill the order correctly did cause extra expense and desperate look for somewhat difficult to find .380 ammo.Quality Performance Value
Quality was great and phone interaction comforting. Delivery was not so good. (Posted on 11/23/10)
