In addition, for more than a century, Winchester has been the first to answer the call to arms by producing billions of rounds of small-caliber ammunition for the United States military and its allies. So, no matter what the sport, game or circumstances, you can always depend on every handgun cartridge in the Winchester Ammunition line to perform - as promised
Winchester RANGER is hard to find and features a jacketed hollow point bullet that expands on impact for maximum stopping power. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.
This is top of the line, American-made defense ammo - it doesn't get any better than this for personal protection.

- Subsonic not a problem Review by Jeff

Most 180 grain .40 cal ammo is subsonic (under 1100 FPS). This round feeds and expands very well. No problem with performance. I know a couple of agencies that use this as their duty ammo. Plus, Luckly Gunner's customer service is great and they ship it to you fast! (Posted on 3/3/11)Performance Value Quality - Great product. Excellent Service Review by Hetues Penale

I will say I'm new to guns, so this will most likely come off as "Dumb" but I don't have any other way of knowing. I purchased them because they were subsonic, which I thought were quieter, I didn't notice a difference in the sound. I am keeping them though since they seem to have good reviews, if anybody could shed some light feel free to help me understand. I test how ammo will work as a self-defence round by filling a gal. milk jug, then freezing it. I take the jug 30 ft. & put my Beretta mod.96 on it. You only get to shoot it once. In the sunlight it makes a beautiful rainbow. You can bet you life on fhe 180 jhp Ranger!!! (Posted on 5/20/10)Performance Value Quality - Will do the Job Review by dogtownusa68

When I squeeze the trigger, they go POP and make a hole in the paper. Let's hope I never have to find out how they work for their intended purpose. (Posted on 5/11/10)Performance Value Quality - Haven't shot these yet Review by LJ
