This round’s bullet is surprisingly light at 115 grains. That’s because the HoneyBadger isn’t weighed down by one atom of dense lead. It is a monolithic (i.e. solid copper) projectile, and its astoundingly fast 1,600 fps muzzle velocity (5” test barrel) means it will transfer over 600 ft lbs of kinetic energy to its target at close range – without generating above-standard chamber pressure as a result.
The HoneyBadger does not expand, yet it still inflicts a far wider wound channel than 0.4”. That’s because its unique fluted nose profile actively scoops soft tissues up, pressurizes them, and jets them outward at high velocity to produce a debilitating wound cavity. The HoneyBadger hasn’t got a nose cavity, so its terminal ballistics cannot become compromised as a result of clogging with fabric or other debris. And since it’s lead-free, the HoneyBadger keeps the bore remarkably clean and more effective because of it.
Lehigh Defense makes this round’s bullet. Black Hills tends to everything else: first-rate brass, primer, propellant and loading practices that secure reliable operation in all 10mm firearms.
