This round is loaded with 1 solid ounce of hard and dense lead: 225 pellets grand total. They’re supported by a cushioned wad – essentially a plastic column with a cup for the shot and a hinged midsection just behind it, the latter of which squashes down on ignition to promote reduced (A) pellet deformation (which adds points to pattern density) and (B) perception of recoil (which improves comfort and follow-up shot speed). A handy piece of equipment, to be sure!
This is a textbook 3-1/4 dram equivalent shell: 1 ounce of shot, 1,290 fps muzzle velocity. No two semi-autos are alike, but they generally like ammo with a 3 dram equivalent or higher.
