This shell is a shorty. It’s 1-3/4” long – but not solely for the sake of novelty. When you invest in this ammo, you’re effectively doubling your pump-action shotgun’s capacity without actually modifying it. Very neat! But do be sure that (A) not all pump-action shotguns can cycle shorty shells without receiving some sort of modification beforehand, and (B) semi-autos cannot cycle this ammo.
Is this ammo weak? Relative to some other full-size loads, sure, but that doesn’t mean it won’t hold its own during a deer hunt or home invasion. The 7/8 ounce rifled slug bursts out of the barrel at a rate of 1,250 fps (giving it comparable recoil to an average 20 Gauge target load), at which rate it’s due to inflict pretty serious damage. Doesn’t hurt that its low recoil translates to soft muzzle flip, which can help you put more lead into the target, faster!
This ammo is made in Mexico. It can be handloaded so long as you can deal with its roll crimp.
