Upland game hunters, beware! Lead shot is no longer welcome at all hunting grounds. Thank goodness there is Federal Upland Steel series 12 Gauge ammunition, which is loaded with non-lead shot that won’t land you in trouble with the kinds of authorities who write tickets. We don’t know about you, but we hate paying fines!

This shell shocks small birds into submission with the power of #6 steel shot. A steel shot pellet isn’t as dense as a lead one of the same size, which is why this shell’s muzzle velocity is hotter than average at 1,375 fps. It gives the shot more momentum so it can reach its target with enough energy to kill it quickly. A steel shot pellet is significantly harder than a lead one, however, which is why you may just notice that this round's 315 shot pellets exhibit a tighter pattern than usual. A welcome advantage when you’re trying to snip doves out of the air!

Federal is unquestionably one of the United States’ most reputable shotshell manufacturers. They’re the reason why different gauges’ shotshells have different colors! You can trust these steel bird loads to operate reliably and safely in any modern shotgun, and you can make great use of their empty hulls if you’re a practitioner of the handloading arts.
