Sporting clays would be a lot easier if the targets didn’t move so fast, but we guess that would kind of defeat the purpose. This 12 Gauge shotshell is designed by Federal to give its shooter a much needed edge in a sport that requires such great skill, but they graciously keep its price tag low so that anyone can afford to go punish clays.
This shell is loaded with a full ounce of #7.5 shot. That’s a little less than the maximum 1 1/8 ounces permitted by the National Sporting Clays Association, but you’ll enjoy a lighter recoil and that lesser price tag because of it. Federal’s shot is hard to preserve its ability to fly straight, and ejects from the muzzle with an impressive 1,330 fps muzzle velocity to shorten how greatly you will have to lead your aim.
Strictly standardized wads, propellant charges, and primers keep these shells’ patterns consistent shot after shot. You’ll be able to predict how this ammo is going to behave -- the clays, not so much.
