When you fire Federal’s Trophy Copper 12 Gauge ammunition, you’re going to witness the same kind of accuracy at 200 yards that you would have expected out of a rifle. And if this shell’s solid copper slug happens to hit your quarry at that range, it’s going to anchor it right where it stands.

This shell’s slug is very light at a mere 300 grains (roughly 2/3 ounces). That’s why it’s able to exhibit an extraordinarily fast 1,900 fps muzzle velocity. At that rate the aerodynamic and balanced monolithic projectile achieves a ballistic coefficient of 0.187, thus enabling it to inflict over 1,000 ft lbs of energy until 207 yards and remain supersonic until 255 yards. That’s how this ammo pulls off sub-4” groups at 200 yards!

The Trophy Copper slug’s polymer tip does more than streamline its profile. On impact it rams into the slug’s nose cavity to initiate rapid expansion. So much hydrostatic shock accompanied by a deep, wide wound channel will spell the end of any buck’s days.

This shell’s slug is made of solid copper. It’s compliant with certain jurisdictions’ laws that ban lead projectiles, tough enough to plow through even the toughest animal tissues, and incapable of contaminating meat with heavy metal.

Please note that this is a sabot slug and accordingly designed for rifled bore shotguns. Smoothbore shotguns can fire sabot slugs, but Federal’s precision sabot will not promote superior bore alignment in that case. It will succeed only at delivering absolutely terrible accuracy!
