This shell is an extra quarter inch long so it can accommodate a full 1-1/8 charge of BB steel shot. Federal’s shot pellets are a consistent 0.180" in diameter and also plenty smooth, the two qualities it needs in order to pattern nice and efficiently. Steel shot’s 8 g/cc density is significantly lower than that of lead, but it makes up for that shortcoming when its muzzle velocity is a simmering 1,550 fps.

This shell’s 81 nontoxic shot pellets are launched by propellant that burns up fast and clean to minimize fouling in the action and barrel, and its high-performance primer is to be trusted when a goose enters your sights. Perfect for pass shooting Daff and Don, too!
