Your mission – and you’ve already accepted it – is to show the hunting world just what Horndy’s 22 Creedmoor is capable of. What better ammo to aid you on your quest than Hornady’s own Precision Hunter label materiel?

This cartridge tosses an 80 grain ELD-X almost three times faster than the speed of sound. True to the first three initials of its name, the ELD-X exhibits extraordinarily low drag thanks to its boat tail, Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket, and secant ogive profile. It also features Hornady’s own Heat Shield tip, which is made of polymer that won’t warp or otherwise deform while it’s roasted by aerodynamic friction.

Unlike the ELD Match, the ELD-X expands. Within 400 yards, you can trust its InterLock ring to keep its jacket and lead core firmly planted together. No less than 50% weight retention at that range! And if you hike it out even farther, you can still expect the ELD-X to widen out lethally.

Hornady recorded this round’s advertised 3,285 fps muzzle velocity using a 24” test barrel (minimum recommended twist: 1:8”). They report its G1 BC at 0.485, which lets us cook up these ballistic data for your consideration:
