What is “Small Game?” A 1/4”x1/4” Chinese checkerboard? No! It is squirrels. It is chipmunks. It is rats, snakes, and other small animals you’d take offense at being lumped in with.

Uncoincidentally, it is also the perfect thing to shoot with this 22 LR ammo by Federal Premium.

This isn’t an ordinary 22 LR round. Most of the things are loaded with single bullets (or “projectiles,” if you want to be all fancy about it). This cartridge, on the other hand, is essentially a teeny-tiny shotshell, with a crimped case mouth to hold in its contents: 25 grains (0.057 ounces) of #12 lead shot (0.05” diameter pellets; ~136 pieces, total).

Make no mistake. Even for the 22 LR, this is one weak cartridge. Its advertised 1,000 fps muzzle velocity represents a 25.0 power factor. (For context, a CCI Standard Velocity load is more than double that.)

But that’s the beauty of it. This is also one of the lightest-recoiling, softest-banging 22 LR rounds you’ll ever fire, and it packs all the punch it needs to terminate pests at close range.

IMPORTANT NOTES
1. Do not fire this ammo through a ported barrel or compensator. A port could deflect a shot pellet back at you.
2. This ammo does not cycle a semi-automatic.
