This cartridge has the copper-plated hollow point: a jack-of-all-trades 22 LR bullet. Its plating isn’t all that thick, and will in fact allow some lead fouling to take place, but its impact on the bore and its rifling is in fact cleaner. Its nose cavity will set off expansion – i.e. the terminal ballistics which kill small game extra dead.
This round’s bullet is a hair lighter than standard at 36 grains. The upshot of that is a flatter trajectory, which enables you to compensate less for bullet drop. A 36 grain bullet is a bit more vulnerable to wind drift, however, and its supersonic muzzle velocity means it will destabilize once it becomes subsonic.
Those are just technicalities, of course. Anyone who can hold a 22 LR firearm will be able to aim this fine ammo just fine. Federal’s mastery of their craft also makes this ammo smooth-cycling and capable of reliably operating any semi-automatic.
