Don’t let the 22 LR’s diminutive stature fool you. Like any other cartridge out there, you have to put your hours in with the 22 LR to truly master its performance. This ammo right here, from Federal’s RTP label? It makes better shooters.

This round’s 40 grain bullet is the most common weight for its caliber, and with its 1,240 fps muzzle velocity will deliver a flat, easily directed trajectory for hitting targets far off in the distance. The bullet’s round nose profile doesn’t permit it to expand, but it does still transfer plenty of energy if you’d ever need it to knock a chipmunk out of a tree. Unlike a lead round nose, this bullet’s copper plating will prevent it from quickly coating a bore’s riflings and inhibiting their ability to stabilize.

Federal makes fine ammo, even when it’s accessibly priced range ammo. This cartridge’s brass shell casing has straight, concentric walls, and is thin enough for a firing pin to access its primer without splitting during ignition. Federal uses only the most modern components, meaning this round’s primer and propellant are both sensitive and very clean burning.
