Winchester didn’t violate the known laws of physics when they designed this cartridge. Its subsonic muzzle velocity is assured by its chunky 45 grain projectile, which possessed too much inertia to shatter the sound barrier upon emergence. The black copper-plated round nose bullet feeds without hesitation, complements the innately high accuracy of a subsonic 22 LR cartridge quite nicely, and doesn’t expand after impact (but we still wouldn’t want to be the varmint who gets hit by one). Reduced-flash propellant means this ammo will have even less of an impact on your senses!
