You can’t help but feel like a fortunate pirate when you open up a little black plastic chest of Ammo Inc. 223 Rem ammunition. You’ll want to set sail straight to the range so you can fire the cannons (aka your AR-platform rifle). Just save the grog for afterward!
We don’t like calling any ammunition “basic” because that could imply it’s low quality. But this really is the fundamental 223 ammo you’d want for all your regular training and plinking pursuits. Each cartridge is loaded with a 55 grain full metal jacket projectile: steel-free and nonmagnetic, non-expanding and accordingly inadequate for medium-sized game. There are also better selections for home defense, which isn’t at all to suggest that one or two of these rounds couldn’t stop a scallywag dead in their tracks.
