“Scorpio” is STV’s label for commercial sale, although this is essentially the same 223 Rem they supply to military and law enforcement clients. It’s C.I.P spec (basically Europe’s version of our country’s SAAMI), and it’s loaded with classic 55 grain full metal jackets.
STV graciously lists every metal inside this cartridge’s metallic components: lead and tin alloy core, copper and zinc alloy (i.e. brass) jacket, and brass case. This transparency answers our customers’ most common questions about Eastern European ammunition:
1. Does the bullet attract a magnet? No!
2. Are the cases reloadable? Yes!
And the Boxer primers, lest there be any doubt, are noncorrosive.
