“Elemental” also describes a force of nature, which your AR-15 will become after you have loaded it with Winchester’s ball ammo. This round’s projectile meets the Army’s M193 specs with its 55 grain full metal jacket projectile loaded to a standard muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps. The nonmagnetic FMJ’s hard copper alloy jacket will help your rifle avoid feeding jams and rapid barrel leading, and its streamlined profile enables the bullet to retain a velocity in excess of 2,100 fps at 300 yards.
This ammo is designed first and foremost for target shooting. That said, the 223 Rem is not a low-powered cartridge, and its FMJ is likely to split apart into devastating fragments if it hits a threat at close enough range.
These cartridges’ brass cases are brand new and have never before seen the light of day. You will see discoloration around their necks because they are heat-treated for added robustness. This ammo is also non-corrosive, Boxer-primed, and can be reloaded several times before its brass gives out.
This is true bulk ammo – all the cartridges are packaged together, without smaller boxes separating them.
