This ammo’s designed to fulfill FBI requirements for terminal ballistics to the letter. Its CX bullet is made of solid copper; tough, like a bullet must be in order to pierce barriers completely or mostly intact. The CX’s nose cavity is obstructed by a polymer plug. It keeps debris out until penetration through flesh rams it inward, hastening terminal expansion in turn.
FBI Test Protocol Performance: Bare Gelatin (Colt 6920 16” 1:7” Barrel)
• Total penetration - 16”
• Max cavity - 5”
• Depth of max cavity - 3”
• Initial penetration - 0.5”
• Retained weight - 52 grains
• Expanded diameter - 0.5”
This temperature-stable, low-flash ammo excels at home defense, but it’s no less practical for hunting in yotes (especially on lands where lead is banned). Here’s what to expect out of a 24” 1:12” test barrel:
0yds: 3,335 fps | 1,309 ft lbs | -1.5”
100yds: 2,756 fps | 894 ft lbs | 1.6”
