Many indoor ranges ban magnetic projectiles, and understandably so. Steel’s tendency to create sparks when it hits hard surfaces can start fires, and unwanted fires as a rule are bad for business. Hard steel can also damage an indoor range’s backdrop, and backdrops don’t grow on trees! (We’ve never liked that expression, because it doesn’t account for why wood and coconuts cost money.)

Up until now, many shooters haven’t been able to take advantage of Tula’s accessibly priced ammunition because the Russian manufacturer strengthened their bullets with steel. But not anymore! This 223 Rem cartridge features a 55 grain bullet with a brass jacket. It is totally nonmagnetic, yet still strong enough to avoid the kind of deformation that could have impacted accuracy.

This cartridge still offers Tula’s primary budget-friendly feature: The steel shell casing. It alone is the reason why this round is magnetic as a whole. It’s also the reason this round is non-reloadable. Tula does help a rifle feed and extract more efficiently by applying a thin layer of low friction polymer to their steel shell casings, which doesn’t melt off in extreme heat. This round’s Berdan primer is non-corrosive, so it will not deposit corrosive salts inside of your firearm.
