This round’s bullet isn’t actually all that fancy. It weighs 55 grains, which makes it easy to get the hang of if you’re already accustomed to training with M193. It’s a pointed soft point, which is aerodynamically shaped and able to widen out and tumble around upon finding itself surrounded by soft tissue. We are quite certain the PSP would have precisely the effect you would want it to have on a coyote, too.
Winchester says this round’s velocity at 100 yards equals 2,747 fps (24” test barrel). We did the math. We crunched the numbers. You’d better believe we were wearing one of these bad boys while we determined that the bullet exhibits a 0.200 G1 BC under normal atmospheric conditions. That means you can expect roughly this kind of ballistic performance:
0 yards: 3,240 fps | 1,282 ft lbs | -1.5”
50 yards: 2,990 fps | 1,092 ft lbs | -0.3”
100 yards: 2,754 fps | 927 ft lbs | 0.0”
150 yards: 2,531 fps | 782 ft lbs | -0.9”
200 yards: 2,318 fps | 656 ft lbs | -3.1”
250 yards: 2,115 fps | 547 ft lbs | -7.0”
