This 223 cartridge by Doubletap features Swift’s 62 grain Scirocco II projectile. The Scirocco II boasts intense accuracy thanks to its thick base that prevents deformation during ignition, boat tail that reduces in-flight turbulence, long driving band for greater stability, secant ogive profile that promotes a flatter trajectory, and sharp polymer tip which minimizes frontal air resistance.

The Scirocco II does more than just hit its target, of course. On impact its polymer tip rams into the nose cavity in its core to commence rapid terminal expansion. The Scirocco II’s pure copper jacket controls that expansion to ensure it spreads out in a uniform radius, and is bonded to its core to prevent fragmentation that could yield too shallow a wound channel to effectively neutralize a threat.

Because it is so effective for personal protection, the Scirocco II is also suitable for hunting large varmints and predators. Doubletap loads Swift’s American-made bullet in the state of Utah, where they implement new production brass and non-corrosive primers to make highly reliable cartridges.
