Good for small game
Review by Rod
I have used this ammo for small game hunting for a number of years. Sometimes the bullet fragments, and sometimes it goes right through and stays in 1 piece. Guess it depends upon what it contacts. They make this in a slower velocity round that is supposed to be "quiet" but at a little over 700 fps I don't think that bullet will fragment as well as this ammo at 1,050 fps. I've found this to be pretty accurate in higher quality rifles. I small game hunt with a Remington 541-T model, and an Anschutz 1710 rifle. Those are very high end, very accurate guns and this ammo is very accurate in those rifles. It won't chamber in some of my match grade rifles with very tight chamber specs. This fragmenting bullet is a little larger diameter than match grade bullets, and these larger diameter rounds just wont go in the tighter chambers. This ammo isn't cheap. At $70 a brick there is a lot of hunting ammo that is a better value. But I have seen a lot of the cheaper, faster hollow points have such a tiny hollow cavity I don't experience those expanding in any game. I'll keep using this until I discover something that performs much better. It being a subsonic round it might not operate some semi-auto rifle actions without changing to a lighter recoil spring.
