This 243 Win deer hunting cartridge is fitted with Winchester’s 85 grain solid copper polymer tipped projectile. It can’t dirty up a barrel with lead residue or taint meat, and its near-perfect weight distribution makes it especially stable in flight. The Copper Extreme Point also features a very large and streamlined polymer tip, smooth shank and boat tail – three attributes which sharpen its G1 ballistic coefficient to 0.350 (G7 0.175). Even if you’re stretching it all the way out to 300 yards, you can still expect the Copper Extreme Point’s trajectory to stay lower than 5”!
The Copper Extreme Point’s behemoth tip conceals a deep hollow point nose cavity. The tip’s wide base instantly upsets the rim of the nose cavity on impact, and proceeds to produce broad and lethal terminal expansion. A solid copper bullet’s other great benefit comes into play after impact: deep penetration, which is assured via virtually zero fragmentation.
