Winchester loads this round with a 150 grain jacketed hollow point projectile. The JHP’s design makes it perfectly safe for a lever gun’s magazine, as the bullet’s nose doesn’t even touch the primer of the round stacked above it. The JHP’s 0.222 G1 ballistic coefficient means that its trajectory to 200 yards rises only 4.3” above the barrel. At that range the bullet still conserves approximately 960 ft lbs of energy, which is still a good amount for whitetail.
The JHP’s alloyed lead core is tough enough to ensure deep penetration of the target. Its hollow point and contoured jacket both promote wide and consistent terminal expansion. The sole deciding factor will be your aim.
Winchester loads this ammo in Illinois or Mississippi with noncorrosive Boxer primers and new brass cases. It is reloadable!
