Hornady offers their Frontier label as a versatile means to make the best use of your rifle. This 300 AAC Blackout cartridge may not have a lot of bells and whistles to it, but its new production brass, military grade Boxer primer, consistently loaded propellant, and nonmagnetic projectile are all expertly assembled and inspected to provide an accessible solution for plinking and training. This ammo shouldn’t disappoint for varmint hunting or self-defense either – if you can do without terminal expansion, that is.

This round has a 125 grain FMJ projectile. As one of the lighter bullets available in 300 Blackout, its muzzle velocity is well past the speed of sound at 2,175 fps. That gives the bullet a satisfying .250 ballistic coefficient out of a 16” barrel, letting its shooter enjoy a flat trajectory while they’re out taking care of business. (Hornady is based in Nebraska – who should know better about what constitutes flat than Nebraskans?)

Hornady takes every measure to give their FMJ bullet a hard jacket with virtually zero flaws in its concentricity. That combined with its flat base, ballistically efficient profile, and uniform core makes this bullet especially stable for accurate flight. Your range ammo should offer no less!
