This cartridge is loaded with a 147 grain full metal jacket. At that weight the bullet’s muzzle velocity clocks in at 1,826 feet per second. That’s about 700 fps faster than the speed of sound, so it’s going to produce a sharper report and a flatter trajectory than a round loaded with a 200 or 220 grain projectile. The FMJ hasn’t got a nose cavity, soft point or polymer tip, so its design is both economical and prohibitive of terminal expansion. But hey – a bullet that’s designed to expand ain’t going to offer much value when you’re just punching paper targets.
