This cartridge is loaded with a 220 grain bullet: way too heavy to break the speed of sound. It’s good for suppressed rifles because its subsonic report is already (relatively) quieter. The bullet’s heavy weight also benefits its accuracy. Bullets get thrown off balance when they decelerate to subsonic velocity; starting off at subsonic velocity eliminates that problem outright.
The Ballistic Tip is a hunting bullet, with an alloyed lead core and substantial copper jacket that are both durable enough to achieve deep penetration. The Ballistic Tip’s signature feature is hard enough to avoid deformation in the magazine, aerodynamic, and poised to initiate fast expansion. The Ballistic Tip’s heavy jacketed base and tapered jacket both exist to promote wide and evenly spread out expansion.
The Ballistic Tip is manufactured by Nosler – the same company that owns and operates Silver State Armory. This ammo is all-American, reloadable, and ready to roll through any 300 BLK firearm, suppressed or otherwise.
