A rugged outdoorsman such as yourself needs equally rugged 300 Precision Rifle Cartridge hunting ammunition. Fortunately, Hornady’s got your number. The Nebraskan powerhouse loads their Outfitter label 300 PRC ammo with corrosion-resistant nickel-plated brass cases, complete with sealed primers and mouths that keep water away from sensitive explosive components!

But that’s not even what makes this round so interesting. Its 190 grain bullet is the CX. All copper and polymer. No lead. Fully compliant with laws which ban toxic projectiles. Far out!

The CX cleaves a clean channel through the air thanks not just to its evenly distributed weight, but also its optimized groove geometry which minimizes bearing surface and its Heat Shield polymer tip which remains undeformed while it is baked by air friction. The Heat Shield also forces massive terminal expansion, which is only made more effective by the CX’s ability to retain no less than 95% of its weight.

Hornady captured this round’s 3,000 fps muzzle velocity and resultant 0.575 G1 ballistic coefficient with a 24” barrel. Zero in at 200 and drop at 300 will be roughly -6.3.” Zero in at 500 and striking energy will be just shy of 2,100 ft lbs. That’s more than enough juice to bowl over a Roosevelt or Rocky Mountain!
