The ELD-X starts with its Heat Shield tip, a precision formed piece of polymer that won’t warp or deform when scorched by aerodynamic heating. This sets the stage nicely for the rest of the ELD-X’s accuracy-improving features, including its highly concentric Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket with practically zero runout, ballistic coefficient amplifying secant ogive profile, and boat tail optimized for its caliber to create exceptionally little turbulence.
When the ELD-X connects with its target after having flown about 400 yards, its singular tip smashes into the core it’s nestled within to initiate devastating expansion. Its great weight retention is assured by the InterLock ring that binds its core and jacket together, so the ELD-X still retains no less than half of its original weight when it strikes a target up close.
