What do you get when you put the 300 Winchester Magnum’s massive power behind Hornady’s premier competition bullet? Pound for pound, one of the most accurate cartridges around. Anyone who can fire this ammo deserves to see it in action at least once!
This round has Hornady’s 195 grain 0.308” diameter Extra Low Drag Match bullet. The ELD Match’s distinguishing feature is its Heat Shield, a Space Age polymer tip that is engineered to withstand broiling hot aerodynamic friction so it can remain pointed, symmetrical, centered and accurate. The tip gracefully gives way to the highly concentric Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket’s secant ogive profile, and then finally to a long boat tail.
Hornady actually used Doppler radar to perfect the ELD Match, and their attention to detail paid off. This round tears out of a 24” barrel to establish a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.584 (G7 0.292), making its trajectory flat as a beam of light and keeping it supersonic until around 1,500 yards. Hornady’s "Ten bullets through one hole” motto couldn’t be better exemplified!
Here you also have Hornady’s select brass case, meticulously matched powder, and match primer. It’s all made in Nebraska and thoroughly inspected, and one hot item for any sniping enthusiast.
