This 300 WSM cartridge by Federal showcases Barnes’ high performance 165 grain TSX (Triple Shock X) projectile. Since its introduction in 2003 the all copper TSX has become Barnes’ most popular hunting bullet, a feat it owes to many factors. It is incredibly gentle on the bore given copper’s inability to foul very rapidly, and it’s highly accurate thanks to the four pressure relieving grooves encircling its shank. Copper’s inherent toughness means that the TSX loses virtually zero percent of its weight as it burrows through tough game, and its nose cavity’s exceptional depth enables it to expand greatly during penetration. The result is an all-around superior hunting bullet, and one made even better thanks to its compliance with California state law. (Just don’t use a drinking straw while firing it.)

Federal’s own contribution to this round isn’t inconsiderable. Its factory fresh brass casing is precisely drawn and tapered to ensure smooth cycling and repeated reloadability, and its primer and propellant ignite cleanly to preserve your rifle’s action.
