Q: have anew 308 win is the 7.62x51 ammo recommended for us in a 308 barrel

A: Thanks for reaching out Richard! 7.62x51 is loaded to a slightly lower pressure than 308 Win, and its dimensions are virtually identical. Your 308 firearm should run 7.62x51 ammo just fine.

A: Hi Bobby! This ammo should function correctly in your rifle. The main-advantage of steel-cased ammo is that it's more affordable because it cuts out brass. Its bullets are magnetic, which some ranges don't allow. Its cases are also less elastic than brass, which means it (A) permits more carbon fouling into the action and (B) may fail to extract more frequently than brass-cased ammo. I'm a great fan of Wolf ammo myself, but just make certain you're aware that steel-cased ammo is more affordably priced for good reason!
