The hollow point boat tail projectile certainly has got a nose cavity, although it doesn’t sit at the top of the bullet so it can initiate terminal expansion. It was only created so Armscor could fill the bullet’s jacket with melted lead – hence its evenly distributed core.
The HPBT’s boat tail is a tapered base which raises its ballistic coefficient.
