This cartridge features the target shooter’s popular 168 grain bullet, which is sufficiently heavy to stream downrange with relatively little interference from crosswinds. The hollow point boat tail projectile certainly has got a nose cavity, although it doesn’t sit at the top of the bullet so it can initiate terminal expansion. It was only created so Armscor could fill the bullet’s jacket with melted lead – hence its evenly distributed core.
The HPBT’s boat tail is a tapered base which raises its ballistic coefficient. Armscor hasn’t published this ammo’s ballistic data, so we can’t confirm precisely what its ballistic coefficient is, although you can always expect a boat tail help conserve its bullet’s velocity over distances of hundreds of yards.
Armscor made this ammo for the commercial market, and they made it recently. Noncorrosive Boxer primers, reloadable brass cases, and propellant that won’t engulf you in belches of smoke. Order today and we’ll add your name to our “Wall of American Legends.”*
