Are you looking for a beast of a 357 Magnum cartridge – albeit one without any lead in its bullet? Then take a gander at this ferocious little specimen! Buffalo Bore loads it with the 140 grain Barnes XPB: a solid copper hollow point which shoots clean, excavates a deep wound channel into its target, and unfurls multiple petals that wreak havoc on flesh!

Buffalo Bore normally takes care to load flash-suppressed powder. Copper’s lower density than lead’s does mean this round’s bullet is longer than normal, however, and therefore does not leave room for the bulkier reduced-flash propellant. That’s all to say that you ought to expect normal flash while you’re slipping these rounds off their chain.

Buffalo Bore only recommends this ammo for steel revolvers (and all lever-action rifles). They explicitly advise against firing it in lightweight alloy-frame/cylinder revolvers. In the interest of accuracy, Buffalo Bore recorded this round’s muzzle velocity using a variety of real firearms (as opposed to nondistinct test barrels). Here are their numbers:
• S&W Model 66, 2.5" barrel: 1,385 fps
• S&W Model 66, 3" barrel: 1,436 fps
• S&W Model 629, 4" barrel: 1,519 fps
• S&W Model 27, 5" barrel: 1,518 fps
• Marlin Model 1894, 18" barrel: 1,947 fps
