This round’s bullet is powerful even when you only take basic physics into account. At 158 grains in weight and loaded to a muzzle velocity of 1,235 fps, it gives a revolver the power to beat a close-range target with over 500 ft lbs of energy. (About twice as much as the minimum usually recommended for personal protection.)
When soft tissue fills up the semi-jacketed soft point bullet’s lead nose cavity, the pressure yields up to double-diameter expansion. The SJHP’s tough copper jacket ensures that it remains intact until it finally comes to a rest inside its target. (The target, at this point, will not be happy.)
HTP ammo is premium ammo. Remington showcases just how consistently they can work brass, load primers and weigh propellant every time they make one of these potent 357 Mag rounds. Great for all revolvers and lever-action rifles, and reloadable to boot!
