Designed especially for self-defense situations, Magtech has engineered this ammo for flawless functioning, deep penetration in soft tissue, and maximum expansion upon impact with your target. In other words, these are a great value if you’re looking for 50 rounds of ammunition that is good for self defense.
In terms of ballistics, you should expect 744 feet per second of muzzle velocity when fired from a four inch barrel. The corresponding muzzle energy from that same barrel is 200 foot-pounds.

This semi-jacketed hollowpoint round jammed multiple times on the last two sessions with my Ruger 100 and Ruger 101 revolvers. My wife used the 101. Those seemed to be due to heat, either from the propellant or the casing. I have had no problems whatever with the Magtech 158-grain full-metal jacket .38 round, of which my wife and I have fired about 1500 rounds. I switched to this equivalent Magtech semi-jacketed round for its superior striking power, and have fired it on three occasions now. It has jammed consistently enough that I will go back to the full-metal jacket round. Both varieties are very accurate.
