But if you genuinely do need 38 Super ammo for personal protection, you have finally found it! This ammunition was produced by Vairog of Lithuania at their own factory in Cleveland, TN, and it is just the ticket if you would ever fire your custom 1911-style pistol in self-defense!
This cartridge is outfitted with a 125 grain projectile. We regret that we have not yet chronographed it, not has the manufacturer disclosed its muzzle velocity. We would venture that its muzzle velocity is between 1,350 and 1,400 fps out of a 5” barrel, although that is simply an educated estimate. As a jacketed hollow point, the bullet is designed to inflict greater damage to whichever soft tissues it penetrates via terminal expansion. You may also simply choose to train with this ammo. Its bullets contain no steel and are welcome at ranges which prohibit magnetic ammo.
Vairog produces their own brass cases. They are high-quality, and their noncorrosive Boxer primers make them repeatedly reloadable.
