We hope you never have to plant your feet, unholster the three-eighty, and fire in defense of your life. We’re sure you hope for the same. But if your survival ever does boil down to how well you wield your small pistol, then we hope you’re packing the power of Underwood when the time finds you.

This cartridge’s 68 grain bullet is a solid copper hollow point: the Maximum Expansion, made in Texas by Lehigh Defense. It is engineered to keep its shape as it pierces a wide range of barriers. Wood, drywall, even sheet metal – they’re all incapable of forcing the Maximum Expansion to expand. Soft tissue, however, has a markedly different effect on the lead-free bullet. High-velocity impact with a living target causes massive (maximum, even) expansion in the form of the erection of four very sharp petals. The rugged bullet also resists fragmentation in an effort to extend its penetration as deep as possible.

Nickel-plated brass cases? Always a bonus, as they reduce friction during feeding and extraction, fight away tarnishing in storage and in the magazine, and are easier to spot during chamber checks. Low-flash propellant? Fire it at night and rest assured your vision won’t get thrown too out of wack.
