This ammo is made in Wisconsin by Ammo Inc., an Arizonan company that was founded by Fred Wagenhals in 2016. It is loaded with “total metal case” bullets, which are more commonly known as total metal jackets. At its heart, the TMJ dishes out the same terminal performance as an FMJ: it does not undergo terminal expansion, and as such is less than ideal for defensive applications. The TMJ’s lead core is completely sealed away by its nonmagnetic copper jacket, which poses two great benefits while you are target shooting:
1. No part of the lead core will deposit itself within the rifling, which helps to maintain accurate performance; and
2. No part of the lead core will evaporate during ignition, which spares the shooter from inhaling so much toxic lead gas.
Ammo Inc.’s 380 Auto ammo is loaded with virgin brass cases – just the ticket if you appreciate good handloading components – as well as noncorrosive Boxer primers. The company’s Hyperclean Technology propellant is formulated to exhibit virtually complete combustion during ignition, which serves to even further reduce fouling within the barrel.
