Hyperion Munitions (which is indeed veteran-owned) produces these versatile little 380 ACP range cartridges at their factory in Florida. It’s brand new (not military surplus), clean-shooting, and especially useful if you want to limit your exposure to lead!
The majority of range cartridges are loaded with full metal jacket bullets. Contrary to what its name implies, the FMJ’s jacket does not cover the entirety of its lead core’s surface area. It leaves the bottom of the core exposed, which enables hot propellant gasses to vaporize the heavy metal during ignition. This round’s 110 grain total metal jacket bullet is a different story. Its steel-free nonmagnetic jacket covers the base of its lead core as well, so it doesn’t create lead fouling or toxic lead gas while it travels down the barrel.
Veteran Ammo 380 Auto ammo is Boxer-primed and noncorrosive, and it’s also reloadable thanks to its factory fresh brass cases. This ammo comes packaged in a field box. It may not be as sturdy as an ammo can, although the reusable plastic case does provide an altogether more secure solution for long-term storage!
