Federal doesn’t call it “Punch Personal Defense” because it’s made for law enforcement. It’s less effective against auto glass than Federal HST. It ismore cost effective than LEO ammo, however, and still backed by that fine Minnesotan craftsmanship for which Federal is so highly regarded. It even has sealed primers. Nice.
One hundred sixty-five grains is the lighter bullet weight for the 40 S&W. As such, this round is able to put 468 ft lbs of energy into its bullet by the time it has passed through 4” of barrel. The jacketed hollow point’s copper shell wears seams around its rim, which help it broadly fan out immediately after connecting with flesh. Much more damaging than any punch, and indeed many rocks as well.
