This ammo is fundamentally identical to what you’d have been issued had you joined the U.S. Army in 1875. It is loaded with the same bullet weight the round’s original designation called for: 45-70-405. The bullet is a (somewhat paradoxically named) round nose flat point, which is shaped safely for a lever-action rifle’s magazine and lacks a copper jacket. The RNFP’s nose profile isn’t the most ballistically efficient possible, yet the bullet still exhibits fine accuracy and strikes with mighty force on impact.
American Quality Ammunition is born in Montana. New reloadable brass, smokeless powder, and noncorrosive Boxer primers are all welcome modern touches on this trusty range ammo!
