These Ruger branded ARX .45 ACP rounds from PolyCase represent a whole new style of self-defense ammunition for the conscientious shooter. ARX ammunition is designed for self-defense but relies on three angled flutes in the bullet as opposed to expansion from conventional soft-point and jacketed hollow-point rounds. During entry, the flutes take advantage of the forward momentum as well as the rotation of the bullet and redirect them outward in order to create a wide wound cavity for maximum terminal performance. ARX bullets are lead-free and will penetrate intermediate barriers with minimal deflection. PolyCase makes these cartridges the same as their Inceptor line using non-corrosive Boxer primers fitted into reloadable brass casings.

These .45 caliber rounds weigh in at 118 grains which is lightweight for the caliber but offers low relative recoil and a very high muzzle velocity of 1,307 feet-per-second for adequate penetration in a defensive situation.
