This 45 ACP cartridge by Dynamic Research Technologies features a 150 grain frangible bullet. Like other frangible bullets it is entirely lead-free, so it won’t foul up an indoor range’s oxygen or pollute the patch of earth it finally comes to rest in. It is also far safer to train with, because its fine mesh powder core will pulverize when it hits a solid surface to basically eliminate the chance of a dangerous ricochet.

This round’s bullet is unlike most other frangibles because it is designed specifically for self-defense. Its hollow point design enables it to expand and create a wound cavity up to 3” in diameter. Its notched jacket additionally hardens the bullet to keep it intact as it penetrates up to 11” deep in ballistic gel. And because the lead-free bullet is so lightweight it generates relatively little recoil energy, thus helping you keep your muzzle trained on a threat to facilitate accurate follow-up shots.

DRT is based in Albany, Missouri. They utilize premium bullet jackets to ensure superior accuracy, brand new brass cases, and high quality primers that take care of reliable ignition. Their carefully weighed propellant charges don’t deviate from a standard of +/-0.2 grains, so you can expect consistent muzzle velocities when you fire this ammo in your handgun.
