This 45 ACP +P cartridge’s bullet is frangible – a hard mass of sintered tin and copper powders, which will disintegrate into dust and small fragments the moment it collides with a hard surface. Frangible bullets make shooting steel targets or firing against a rocky backstop significantly safer, as they’re incapable of hurling little pieces of lead and copper shrapnel back toward the shooter’s location.

This round’s lead-free bullet is quite naturally incapable of depositing lead residue on a barrel’s rifling. The heat of ignition also cannot sear any lead off a frangible bullet. Winchester’s special heavy-metal-free Boxer primer complements so clean-shooting a bullet quite well. In other words, this ammo will let you breathe easier while training at indoor ranges! And its brass cases are reloadable to boot.

Frangible ammo like this can efficiently neutralize a threat with proper shot placement, but be forewarned: Although frangible ammo does reduce the chance of overpenetration that could jeopardize bystander safety, this round’s bullet is still capable of completely penetrating a human body or a wall.
