very accurate, very wimpy
Yes, it's accurate, and slow. I did not pay attention to power factor, and this will not cycle an HK45 at least half the time. If you're shooting a 1911 with a 12 or 14 lb spring, it might work fine, but this turns my HK into a single shot.
Maybe not for autoloaders
I thought I'd try them in my Sig P320. - I already knew full wadcutters wouldn't load, but maybe these semi-wadcutters might... No.
After several attempts I was only able to get one round off, which I had hand chambered. The rest, including others I hand chambered, were FTL/FTF.
They'll probably work great in your revolver!
Accurate Ammo as Always
Purchased a used Wilson 45 CQB and put in a new barrel and bushing. Wanted to see how how accurate the new barrel was. Wanted to test with good ammo and not "range practice" ammo. Tested and much improved over the old barrel. Have always trusted Federal Gold Match for accuracy, was not disappointed.
The best commercial 45 match you can buy, period.
I've fired at least 40,000 rounds of this ammunition over the last 20 years and never had an issue. Some lots shoot slightly better in some guns but overall, you can win at any level of competition with this ammo. Every lot I've every used or tested will hold the "X" at 25 yds and stay well inside the 10 ring at 50 yds in a decent match gun. Cold weather does slow down the velocity a tad, but the accuracy is always there.
This ammunition is the standard by which all match ammo is compared. It is the gauge to measure any 1911's accuracy.
Most accurate Bullseye competition round I have found in 30 years.
I've been shooting Precision Pistol (Bullseye) for close to 30 years. This ammo in a Ransom Rest will print in the 10 ring at 50 yards in my pistol. I've Loaded the Marine Corps Pistol Team load (Brain Zinns ring a bell) and the Federal Gold Medal out performs it. It will obliterate the X ring at 25 yards. Lucky Gunner has the best price on this stuff that I've seen in years. It still ain't cheap, but I gave it a 5 in value because of the above and that it puts holes in the X ring if I do my job.
I had shot up all of my old Winchester match ammo (185 grain, SWC) and was trying to locate more. I soon found out that Winchester had discontinued that brand of ammunition. A search lead me to the LuckyGunner website where I found Federal Match Ammo (same specs...185 grain, semi-wadcutter). Although not cheap, this ammo is spectacular. I have an old Colt 70 Series Gold Cup. Using this ammo, firing at 50 feet off of sandbags, I can completely obliterate the X-ring with a 5 shot group. At 25 yards, I can consistently fire sub-two inch groups. This is the ammo to use for competition. A little too expensive for practice. I also used this ammo to check the zero on my Ruger SR1911. Same results at 50 ft. as my Gold Cup. Thank you, LuckyGunner for great service and quick delivery. Now, I know where to get my match ammo.
