A: Hi Paul! Page 11 of your rifle's instruction manual says not to fire +P ammunition like this: https://smith-wesson.canto.com/pdfviewer/viewer/viewer.html?v=manuals&portalType=v%2Fmanuals&column=document&id=ruqb9nnsj17k1dbaifohbdc76n&suffix=pdf&print=1

A: No sir. It's unsafe and may damage your revolver and/or you.

A: Hi Eric! Potentially, but the manual advises against it (pg. 13: https://rossiusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Rossi-USA_Polymer-Pistol-Manual.pdf). As such, I cannot rightly recommend it.

A: Hi Matthew! Page 31 of the Taurus Revolver Manual states: "You can use [...] .45 Long Colt in Taurus revolvers chambered for .454 Casull." (https://www.taurususa.com/images/manuals/Taurus_Manual_Revolvers.pdf) You ought to be fine. The .45 Colt's added +P pressure isn't significant as far as a .454 revolver is concerned. I'd just advise you to take care to diligently clean the powder residue ring that forms at the end of the cylinder.

A: Thanks for reaching out Tyler! Ruger says their New Model Vaquero will handle both +P and +P+ ammunition just fine. I apologize, though, as I don't quite understand the Davidson Conversions part of your question – have you converted your revolver with an aftermarket cylinder?

A: Thanks for reaching out Andrew! I'm going to have to ask Bond Arms to make certain I'm getting this right – I wouldn't like your derringer to explode in your hand. I'll update this comment as soon as I hear back from them!
Update: Just heard back from Bond Arms. They say "We do not recommend shooting +P loads, for your safety and others."

A: Thanks for reaching out Bill! The Rossi 92 can handle 45 Long Colt +P just fine. Just be sure that Rossi says 45 LC +P will void the rifle's warranty. This is because they only cover factory-loaded SAAMI spec ammo in their warranty, and SAAMI actually has no specs for the 45 LC +P. Still, your rifle is more than substantial enough to handle a hot load's greater chamber pressure.
