This cartridge’s bullet is no ordinary 185 grain JHP. It is Hornady’s proprietary FTX, which passes through fabric without letting its nose cavity get obstructed and lose its ability to trigger terminal expansion. That’s because the FTX features the Flex Tip: a polymer plug which also helps to initiate expansion following lower-velocity impact.
