The MK262 was developed for one single purpose: hair-splitting accuracy. That is why it is loaded with so heavy a bullet, which gives it far more downrange momentum and resultant resistance to wind drift. That is also why the bullet is an open tip match by none other than Sierra. Its match grade jacket is drawn to a concentricity standard of ±0.0003” in max variation, and its lead core exhibits virtually perfect weight distribution. How accurate is this ammo? Black Hills doesn’t package rounds unless they come from a lot that places sub 2” groups at 300 yards!
Sierra creates these bullets specifically for Black Hills. They are not like the usual MatchKings because they have cannelures – a feature Black Hills deemed necessary to preserve seating depth. Also please take note that the OTM’s nose cavity does not enable terminal expansion.
Black Hills quite naturally loads such accurate bullets with their finest brass cases, Boxer primers and propellant. Order a case and determine beyond a shadow of a doubt just how precisely your rifle can fire!
