This cartridge features Hornady’s own 55 grain CX. It’s a one-piece copper alloy projectile: tough enough to achieve at least 95% weight retention and resultant deep penetration, and incapable of depositing lead inside rifling or meat. The CX also features the deep hollow point nose cavity it needs in order to elicit rapid, wide, and highly injurious terminal expansion.
Hornady recorded this round’s 3,175 fps muzzle velocity and 0.270 G1 ballistic coefficient with a 24” barrel. Set your sights 1.5” high and zero in at 100 yards – the CX will reach its mark with almost 950 ft lbs of kinetic energy and drop to -3” at 200.
This ammo’s bullets are special, but its virgin brass cases and noncorrosive Boxer primers are Hornady’s usual fine work. You can reload this ammo. We’ll even send you the bullets you need for the job!
